This was a great read. It was quick, short, and sweet. I really enjoyed getting an update on Rugger and Psalms. This was a view into what they currently had going on and it was good to see that these two are still madly in love and taking care of each other and their family. I 𝙝𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙡𝙮 𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙙 this read to anyone who read and enjoyed the full-length novel 𝑹𝒖𝒈𝒈𝒆𝒓 by Grey Huffington.

Have you ever read a book and immediately missed the characters once you closed the book? As a reader, I always try to fully immerse myself in the story and in the world of the characters. Grey Huffington (GH) does such a wonderful job drawing in the reader and building the world/location/setting in which the story takes place. This is so well done that as a reader, I often find myself missing the characters and wondering what they are up to now that the story has ended.

A special bonus of being a GH reader is that she often writes “extensions” to her full-length novels, where she gives us a quick, but satisfying, glimpse into what is going on in your favorite characters’ world. I absolute love reading these! Any time I get to spend with my GH characters is a great time!

Rugger and Psalms stole my heart in 𝑹𝒖𝒈𝒈𝒆𝒓 but this short story truly cemented my love for them.

Psalms/Sonnie loves his wife & child. He is willing and has in the past, done any and everything to ensure their safety, happiness and well-being. In 𝑷𝒔𝒂𝒍𝒎𝒔 we see that this is not a one-way street. It’s not just Psalms protecting Rugger. She too is willing to carry the load to do what is required to lighten her husband’s load, all while loving and respecting him. Her help is not because of her perceived weakness of him, but as a way to show her love and commitment to him. Reading this was very inspirational. It’s ok to care for the one you love and to allow those who love us to care for us. This in no way means that we are weak.

The way these two love and pour into each other is so refreshing to see and read about. The fact that they cannot breathe or move or function without each other is presented in such a beautiful way, making it awe-inspiring. This couple is so in sync with each other’s needs and desires that they can anticipate each other’s every move and thoughts. 𝑷𝒔𝒂𝒍𝒎𝒔 was a beautiful representation of Black Love!
